Dry Labs

Researcher using microscope in dry lab

The AAHL has a large general use dry lab and a separate necropsy lab where procedures on fish can be carried out.

These dry labs have general laboratory equipment available such as microscopes, dissecting scopes, centrifuges, a drying oven, refrigerators, 20 °C freezers, a -80 °C ultralow freezer, weigh balances, microbalances, tissue homogenizers, stomacher, water bath, vacuum filtering equipment, pH and DO meters, dissecting tools and glassware.

Shared dry lab space is included in tank rental fees. Limited disposable lab supplies and chemicals are available for use, but researchers should supply their own study specific lab supplies.
