The AAHL is a research facility operated by OSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences and College of Science. Our mission today, as it has been for 30 successful years, is to support the research of aquatic animal investigators by providing infrastructure and amenities, as well as technical support and expertise from our experienced staff.
Our unique capabilities to house freshwater fish pathogens, and provide temperature controlled water to over 350 tanks of various sizes, allows a myriad of studies to take place at the AAHL. Recent research has included: vaccine development, immunological research, disease treatments, feed supplements, ecological, physiological, genetic, environmental and climate change studies with a wide range of freshwater species.
The 9,000 sq ft wet and dry laboratory is located in Corvallis, Oregon in the heart of the Pacific Northwest where the health of fish and their aquatic environment are an integral part of our history, culture, environment, recreation and economy.
All researchers are welcomed at the AAHL, be they scientists from OSU, private industry, state/federal agencies or national and international educational or research institutions.
